Kyomi Tachibana

1979 – Born in Kochi, Japan

1982 – Became mother’s assistant in calligraphy practice

1998 – Became disciple of Kinji Fujita

1999 – Received the “Excellence Award” in the “Dokuritsu Shoten” Calligraphy Competition, and garnered the “Young Artist Award” in the second round of the competition.

2002 – Graduated from the Department of Chinese Literature of Daito Bunka University

2006 – Received the “Mainichi Calligraphy Award”

2008 – Held her first solo exhibition

2010 – Spirited Calligraphy, Exhibited at E.G. Welch School of Art and Design Galleries

2011 – Selected by Kochi Prefecture to inscribe nameplates of the three famous samurais, Hanpeita Takeichi, Ryoma Sakamoto and Shintaro Nakaoka

2012 – Selected by the Tokyo Art Club to exhibit at “Art Award Next II”

2015 – Exhibited at the Contemporary Japanese Ink Painting 2015, National Art Center Tokyo. Exhibited many other times at L’ARTE SAWAFUJI×KYOMI TACHIBANA-MAJIWARU-
